UCAR Central Authentication Server (UCAS)

A specialized server cluster performs user authentication for everyone who accesses computers inside the UCAR firewall security perimeter. Authentication is the process of verifying the identity of a user by requiring a username and password.

If you experience problems authenticating via a web browser, quit your browser and try again.

Some NCAR computers are protected by a higher level of security. The gatekeeper servers mediate the one-time passwords users provide using their CRYPTOCard.

UCAS accounts and CRYPTOCards are provided to new hires as well as to NCAR collaborators who have gone through the allocation process.
