ERIC PITCHER – Director, University Marketing, SGI

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

SGI
Mountain View, California

Director of University Marketing for SGI, a manufacturer of workstations, servers and supercomputers based in Mountain View, California. His responsibilities include the development of marketing programs for the university sector, as well as providing guidance on new products based upon customer requirements. He also oversees SGI’s University Research & Development Grant Program, a program designed to sponsor projects in computational science at universities with SGI systems.

ROSENSTIEL SCHOOL OF MARINE
University of Miami

Instructor - faculty of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami, where he taught graduate courses in meteorology and physical oceanography. He also had an active research program in the area of climate dynamics and geophysical modeling. The modeling activities were supported by the supercomputers located at the National Center for Atmospheric Research where Pitcher held a visiting scientist position. This work was sponsored by NSF, NASA and NOAA.
