Virtual Private Network (VPN)

For increased security on the campus network, UCAR will begin using a campus firewall to block attacks on heavily exploited ports. To legitimately access these difficult to secure services, we have implemented a Virtual Private Network (VPN). The VPN will allow safe access to blocked services from off-site.

To access a service that is restricted to on-site use, install the VPN client on the off-site system and configure it to use the UCAR's VPN server. Once you have done this, you will be able to access all on-campus services from that remote location.
