Joey Mendoza, John Clyne, and Alan Norton of SCD's Visualization and Enabling Technologies Section are developing a new software package that combines visualization with traditional tools for statistical data analysis. Here they discuss an image that depicts results from a turbulent solar convection simulation conducted by Mark Rast of NCAR's High Altitude Observatory.

Scientific visualization combines science with computer graphics so researchers can better understand a vast array of numerical data.
