Cricket (NETS notes)
Cricket is software that maintains web pages that show graphs of
things like network performance. It is described at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cricket/. NETS uses cricket
to graph the performance on UCAR and FRGP networks. See
Cricket graphs for UCAR or
Cricket graphs for FRGP.
On the FRGP workstation, we installed cricket with apt-get. We
created an account named "cricket", which owns all the cricket
files and the cron jobs that make cricket run. If you want to
mess with cricket, ssh in as cricket.
The cron jobs run "configure" once a day and "collect-subtrees" every 5 minutes.
