The MSS FTP Service provides file transfer access to the NCAR Mass Storage Services (MSS), which provides data archival storage services for NCAR users. This web site describes version 2.0 of the MSS FTP Service. The MSS FTP Service can not be used to manage MSS files. To do this you must be logged into a host inside the UCAR security perimeter and use the DCS 4.0 software (see the DCS 4.0 Information web site for details.
To access the MSS FTP Service from inside the UCAR security perimeter, you can probably use the FTP client software already installed on your system.
To access the MSS FTP Service from outside the UCAR security perimeter, you must use a TLS-enhanced FTP client. See the user documentation for more information.
Currently the MSS FTP 2.0 documentation is available as either HTML or as a PDF file.
