Getting help with Web browsers
- Recommendations -- SCD recommends that you use a
browser that supports tables and frames.
(Netscape Navigator 2.0 or higher is one such browser. It is
free to educational institutions.)
If your terminal doesn't have graphics capabilities, we
suggest you use the Lynx browser.
- Browser set-up -- Contact your local system
administrator if you need help setting up your browser.
- Printing SCD documents from your browser -- You can
print PostScript or ASCII versions of SCD documents from
your Web browser. For specific instructions,
see Printing PostScript files from your browser,
check your browser's documentation, or
contact your local system administrator.
- Help -- Computing centers at many universities
offer workshops on using Web browsers, and each browser has
online documentation that you can print at your site.
If you have browser-related problems that you can't solve
locally, contact the Consulting Services by calling
303-497-1278 or sending e-mail to consult1@ucar.edu.
- Faster access for ucar.edu users
-- Local users (computer name ends in .ucar.edu) can speed up
access to remote sites by adjusting their browsers.
