Announcement of ART Online – (Duprey)

The new Administrative Reporting Tool (ART) will be online as of Friday, March 4.

Donna will send an announcement to all DW Users prior to the change. One item pointed out was that the information IT used to initially set up Crystal Enterprise 10 was copied from DWOW last November. Therefore if passwords have been changed since then, ART may not recognize the new password. If this happens, it was advised to try the old password. If that does not work, contact the IT Help Desk.

From the IT website, ART Release notes can be found here: http://www.fin.ucar.edu/it/dw/ARTrelease.html

Demonstration of BiTech 7i – (Werner)

Karl showed the group the current BiTech system, then the new 7i web interface. 7i uses a graphical tree consisting of the same codes the current BiTech system uses such as AP, PO, AR, etc. There are some custom reports in BiTech that are not currently available in the 7i format such as FX for Fixed Assets, CT for Contract Management Module and UCREPOST. Insight is a program that has been developed to run the customized reports in the new web environment. Copies of the existing BiTech screens will be used in Insight. The web version of these reports will allow the use of the mouse in the screens (unlike the current BiTech application). This new system uses workflow options to route paperwork and allows documents to be attached to requests.

Reports that are generated within 7i and Insight look similar to Crystal Reports and can be exported to Excel. Click, Drag and Drill (CDD) is similar to a report repository that looks like Crystal Reports. Users can create new reports using CDD and export the files to Excel.

The old BiTech interface will still be available for a while in parallel with the new 7i and Insight systems.

Update on Report Re-Engineering Process – (Young)

Justin gave an update to the group about the Report Re-Engineering Process group. There are currently about 15-16 people in the group and are gathering a list of all the reports they currently use. They will then categorize the reports and ask other groups throughout the organization for their input. From there they will prioritize the reports and create a best report document and determine what the best resource is for gathering the information needed in each report.
