Abstract:

 

I will describe the approach we are taking to develop an algorithmic and software framework for adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) in support of a diverse set of problems in applied partial differential equations. I will first give a brief overview of the target algorithms and applications, followed by a description of our approach to software design. Finally, I will discuss some of the issues we are having to address in using our tools to develop AMR algorithms for geophysical fluid flow problems.
