Previous Meeting's Minutes - Approved
Project / Action Item List
- Active Directory - Heather H.
- The OU for CISL Security was moved and the Windows firewall policy was disabled.
- SERE support has moved to CISL. Moved dsf for u drive share. OU has not been moved and do not think it will be moved.
- Calendaring - Heather H .
- The web client work around regarding proposals works.
- Our database has been sent to vendor for them to see in hopes of resolving our problems. The next version has come out, we don't believe they will get to our problem.
- The next version is ajax related. Mark B from WEG does not feel that People Cube are the correct people to support us.
- Unsure if we should upgrade, could have java problems, and not real secure. The web client is inside the firewall.
- A few Palm Pilots have had problems syncing with Meeting Maker since the daylight savings time change. No problems in F&A since the patches have been applied, believe it is an individual Palm or syncing problem.
- Room Reservation System
- Testing is in process to verify changes.
- Online tutorial is being prepared.
- Looking at early May of June for deployment.
- Not sure how the old meetings will converge into the new system.
- It may be possible to dump the old system as text. Aaron would like to turn the old one off.
- Central Authentication - Aaron A .
- Received good feedback on the design review, now in detail design.
- There may be one more design review before implementation, not yet scheduled.
- Computer Rooms Project - Pat W .
- The project is moving forward, presenting at President's Council tomorrow.
- Divisional technical and financial contacts have been identified. The technical contacts have met, the financial contacts have not. Need the President Council's approval before talking financials
- Co location changes will happen at each campus.
- It was determined that ML29 infrastructure could be brought on line, making it a phased project. Power at the Mesa is being looked at, right now it is not a prime site.
- The plan was explained and detailed to System Administrators, with this explanation they seem to be on board. Nick says the last meeting helped clarify, and feels the plan is good.
- Electronic Mail - Aaron A.
- Future upgrades to the current Communigate system need to be looked at. Could it support corporate wide use?
- SERE transfered to Communigate.
- Currently looking at 12 management models for standard services and premium services. Would like to dwindle the 12 to 3, then present to ACCIS for discussion.
- Communigate has a good calendaring program, but it is a ical system, very similar to Apple calendars.
- Aaron does not seem too thrilled with it, it does not have the features that Meeting Maker has. Would work well for scientists, not for the administrative staff. It needs lots of hands on updates, and does not do multiple people meetings very well.
- FTP - Jim V .
- An ftp page has been added to the wiki. Web documentation will be reviewed and cleaned up.
- Standardized Documentation - Pat W.
- Software Licensing - Pat W.
- Ed has installed the new license for Mac and Linux pgi compilers. Not sure at this time when the transition to the new servers will take place.
- SLA's Required, Formatting, and Definitions - Jim V., Pat W.
- Marla, Pat, and Jim are going through the criticality list.
- The old documents on the ITC page and the SLA's need to be updated in conjunction with the criticality list.
- Good idea to put the criticality list and SLA together.
- Web Conferencing - Mic S.
- Mic will be leaving UCAR next week. ACCIS would like to thank him for all the great work he has done on this project.
- Nick had a pricing question regarding ReadyTalk. Telephone conferencing cost .5 a minute, web conferencing costs .10 a minute. Would telephone and web conferencing cost .15 a minute? Believe so.
- Option to renegotiate rate after a year.
- Contracts has lots of information on their page, check it out.
- ACCIS UIS Project- Pat W.
- The task force group has met and is refining the data for the web server.
- HR, legal and Security attended the last meeting and provided good discussion.
- Markus, Chris, and Pat are working on the governance document. Don't have a release date yet, still a few months out.
- Pat hopes to have a presentation for ACCIS in May.
- ACCIS Member List- Jim V.
- A replacement for Mic will be selected. Until then. Karl Hudnut will attend.
- Todd Munson will represent F&A for the next two months.
- Web Site- Jim V.
- Open Discussion -
- Kimberly Kosmenko, the environmental coordinator will not focus on IT power issues at this time. She is working on composting and transportation (SASS) related issues. At some point she will give a presentation to ACCIS.
- Office07 Training. There are two classes scheduled through the CTTC for hands on training. It was suggested that a presentation be presented to staff who are interested in the changes, but do not need hands on.
- Future Agenda Items -
- Action Item List
- Aaron will begin working on a mail presentation for the group, tentative May presentation.
- FTP project will be removed from the agenda.
- Jim will organize SLA's and move them to the criticality document.
- Jim and Mic will work on Web Conferencing project closeout.
- Heather will check with Cheryl regarding MS2007 training options.
